Description

Balooshahi is a traditional North Indian dessert popular in the Indian subcontinent and neighbouring countries. It is a deep-fried pastry made from a dough of all-purpose flour, yoghurt, ghee (clarified butter), and baking soda. The dough is shaped into round discs, deep-fried until golden brown, and then soaked in sugar syrup, which gives it a sweet and syrupy texture.

Once soaked, balushahi becomes soft, moist, and slightly flaky. It is often garnished with chopped nuts like pistachios or almonds, enhancing its taste and appearance. Balushahi is a popular sweet during festivals, celebrations, and special occasions, enjoyed by people of all ages.
