Tilkut is a famous sweet dish from Gaya, a city in Bihar, India. It is especially popular during the Makar Sankranti festival. Tilkut is made from sesame seeds and jaggery, or sugar. It is a sweet dish with the unique nutty flavour of sesame seeds. It is known as tilkutam in Chennai and gajak in Mumbai, UP, Delhi, Kolkata, and Rajasthan.
